Jordan Stiers will tell you that lucky things like winning $10,000 with a single half-court contest don’t happen to her.
She certainly has had plenty of hard times in her young life.
This Kansas University student is one smart gal.
When she won the chance for the half-time contest, she picked KU director of basketball operations, Brennan Bechard, to take the shot for her.
When he sunk the shot, Jordan knew exactly what she would do with the money–give it to her grandmother, the woman who saved her and her siblings from foster care.
Jordan told local TV station KSHB, “I was just thinking about my Nana and what I was going to do to help her. She’s my mom. She’s my dad. She’s my grandma – she’s everything. “She has done so much for me, taught me so much.”
